Jyotish — The Science of Light
Vedic astrology (Jyotish) is the ancient astrological system of India. Unlike Western astrology which uses the tropical zodiac, Jyotish employs the sidereal zodiac, aligned with the actual constellations. This produces a difference of approximately 24 degrees (ayanamsa), so your Vedic sign may differ from your Western sign. Jyotish also divides the sky into 27 Nakshatras (lunar mansions), each with its own deity and unique energy.
